Originally released in the mid-nineties, it received great reviews (Mike Close, Doc Eason) and found its way into the working repertoires of hundreds of performers.

THE EFFECT
The Wonder Worker (that's you) brings out a small business card wallet containing an envelope with some pocket change in it. Each spectator is asked to name a number between one and nine. One says "five." The other says "four." The envelope is emptied into the spectator's hands and is seen to contain fifty-TWO cents. The audience is less than impressed. The performer was two cents off. He then takes an I.O.U. from the envelope which reads "I.O.U. two cents." The envelope is now empty. And the crowd goes wild ...

Points to remember: Easy to do
No nail writers (In fact, there's no writing of any kind during the effect. The IOU is in the envelope and completely written before the effect begins.)
The envelope and your hands are completely empty at the finish of the trick.
Resets quickly
It's not a card trick (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Two spectators come up on stage, the performer standing between them. One picks a card from the deck without looking at it. The card is placed face-up in the facedown deck. The performer turns his head so he can't see the cards. The cards are then spread in the performers hand so one spectator can see the reversed selection and the backs of the other cards; the other spectator sees the rest of the deck. "One of you can only see one card. Memorize that card. One of you can see all the other cards -- think of ANY one of those. Keep silently, mentally repeating your selected card to yourself." The performer squares the deck and faces the audience.

Without ANY glimpses, peeks, fishing or equivoque, he immediately names the reversed card and the freely chosen card.

You receive the special gaffed Double Duty Deck and detailed instructions.

You explain to your participant that playing cards can actually reveal how a person feels about life's biggest metaphysical questions. You offer to prove it.
She removes a card from a deck and places it aside.

HEART TRANSPLANT
Could this be the perfect trick for Valentine’s Day and romantic couples? It’s true. It’s true.

The magician offers to perform a little "transplant surgery" for the entertainment pleasure of his audience.
He tables the facedown two of hearts.
He then picks up the three of hearts and visibly rubs off the center pip, turning the three into a two of hearts. He pantomimes dropping the "removed heart" on the facedown two
Picking up the tabled heart, it's now a three, but the new heart is in the WRONG place!
He adds another heart to it (making it a four) and that heart is BROKEN!

Finally, he picks up the the "butchered" four of hearts and asks a female spectator to touch it. This brings the four of hearts back to pristine condition proving, "a beautiful lady can fix a broken heart and that the magician's heart is in the right place."
